Easy Homemade Fingerpaints

easy homemade fingerpaintsWho else is in need of an easy homemade fingerpaints recipe? We go through so much fingerpaint that I should buy stock in Crayola. But, I would love to have an option that is inexpensive to make AND I don’t have to worry if my 4 year old eats it. (A story for another day!)

This is the recipe I am giving a try this summer:

Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup water
- Food coloring

1. Mix flour and water together until mixture is smooth.
2. Separate into baby food jars, solo cups, bowls or even a muffin tin.
3. Add about 5 drops of food coloring to each and mix. (Depending on how dark you want the color)

It seems to be working pretty well and my kids LOVE that they make it themselves. It doesn’t wash off quite as easily, so remember to have the kids wear old clothes!

What recipe do you have for homemade fingerpaints?
